An assessment of the performance of the construction product pursuant to CPR (system 3)
The Institute carries out an assessment of the performance of the construction product acc. to CPR as the Notified body No. 1301 – (Notified Laboratory), provided:
- the product is covered by a relevant document, i.e. either the harmonized European standard (hEN) or the European technical assessment (ETA),
- and hEN or ETA stipulates the system 3 as the system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP),
- and for which hEN, respectively European Assessment Documents (EAD), under which the ETA was issued, the Institute is notified as the Testing Laboratory (scope of notification in NANDO).
The Notified Laboratory carries out an assessment of the performance of the construction product by assessing performance of at least one of the relevant essential characteristics of the product designated by the manufacturer. The assessment is performed by testing (based on sampling carried out by the manufacturer), calculation, tabulated values or descriptive documentation of the construction product. Selection of either of these methods is based on the relevant technical specification, and if there are two methods available, e.g. testing or calculation, it is up on the manufacturer to select the method.
