Voluntary product certification

Voluntary product certification is performed by the institute as an accredited Product certification body. Voluntary certification provides manufacturers with increased customer confidence in their products, because, unlike the certificate and the declaration of parameters according to CPR, respectively Act no. 133/2013 Coll., in the so-called regulated area, where the subject of (mandatory) certification are only some products and only those of their properties that are related to the basic requirements for constructions, the voluntary certificate confirms also the parameters of properties beyond the scope of properties e.g. from Annex ZA of the harmonized standard, or parameters of product properties which are not covered by CPR or Act no. 133/2013 Coll.

For products for which the certification body has detailed rules with the posssibility of obtaining the TSÚS quality mark, the manufacturer is, in addition to granting the certificate, allowed to mark the certified product with the TSÚS quality mark:

The procedure and requirements are contained in the general rules for awarding the quality mark and in the specific rules for issuing a product certificate for individual (selected) product groups.

Optional certification for these selected product groups is governed by the internal TSÚS regulations: General rules for awarding the TSÚS Quality Mark and Rules CV/TSUS/05 for the product group: Dry mortar mixtures based on inorganic binders for bonding of thermal insulation boards and laying of reinforcing grids.
Dry mortar mixtures based on inorganic binders for gluing thermal insulation boards and laying the reinforcing grid were evaluated mainly on the basis of the requirements of ETAG 004 External thermal insulation composite systems with plaster (ETICS). The mentioned ETAG 004 was replaced by the harmonized technical specification EAD 040083-00-0404 External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) with plaster.
Based on these facts, on 10 August 2021 TSÚS updated Rules CV/TSUS/05 with a modified title: Dry mortar mixtures and pastes based on inorganic binders for gluing thermal insulation boards and laying reinforcement grid and PU foam adhesives for gluing thermal insulation boards to the substrate, which take into account the requirements of harmonized technical specification EAD 040083-00-0404.

We recommend manufacturers who are interested in the voluntary certification of their products to consult their intention with the staff of the Product certification body (ÚPZ) or to fill in and send an application for product certification (voluntary certification).
