Determination of the product-type pursuant to Act no. 133/2013 Coll. (system III)
The Institute carries out determination of the product-type acc. to Act no. 133/2013 Coll. as the Approved Testing Laboratory SK04, provided:
- the product belongs to some of groups of construction products pursuant to the Ministerial Decree no. 162/2013 Coll., and that there is neither harmonized standard (hEN), nor European technical assessment (ETA) covering the product, i.e. it is a non-harmonized product,
- and the Ministerial Decree no. 162/2013 Coll. stipulates for that group of construction products the system III of assessment and verification of constancy of performance,
- and for which group of construction products the Institute is approved as the Testing Laboratory (scope of approvement – Ministerial website).
The determination of the product-type is based on the assessment of at least one of the relevant essential characteristics of the product designated by the manufacturer. The assessment is performed by testing (based on sampling carried out by the manufacturer), calculation, tabulated values or SK descriptive documentation of the construction product. Selection of either of these methods is based on the relevant technical specification and if there are two methods available, e.g. testing or calculation, it is up on the manufacturer to select the method.
An application for the determination of the product-type (assessment of performance) can be downloaded here. When the assessment is finished, the Approved body drafts a report on the assessment of performance and sends it to the manufacturer.
